Youths of the host community to Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, Ngor Okpala Local Government Area, Imo State, have congratulated a son of the area, Dr Clifford Ogbede, over his appointment as Executive Director Agriculture Rural Development and Natural Resources in the South East Development Commission, SEDC.
In their message signed by the President Comrade Casmir Ekeh, Secretary Emenike John and Board of Trustee,BoT, Chairman, Comrade Alvan Opara, the elated youths also extended heartfelt gratitude to President Bola Tinubu and Deputy Speaker House of Representatives,Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu, for making SEDC and Dr Ogbede’s appointment possible.
According to the youths operating under the umbrella of Onyeaghalanwanneya Youth Movement,OYM, the appointment of their son is not only an auspicious and historic event, but is also apt, well deserved and a fitting honour.
This, according to them, is because he is a square peg in a square hole, who they can attest to his natural passion, unwavering commitment and dedication to public service. They noted further that his appointment is a right step in the right direction, because he boasts of the necessary capacity, competence and skills set, that the new office demands, going by his illustrious private sector track record of performance and excellence.
The group declared: “We are, therefore, confident that not only will you deliver on your mandate as Executive Director Agriculture, Rural Development and Natural Resources, but also, play pivotal role towards the actualization of the mandate of the SEDC, which is acceleration of development in our region.”
The group noted that their goodwill message to their son will not be complete if, they fail to thank and praise President Bola Tinubu, and Deputy Speaker of House of Representatives,Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu, for their clinical decision in facilitating and approving Dr Ogbede’s appointment.
According to them, President Tinubu and DSP Kalu deserve trailer loads of gratitude, for their vision, courage and political will, in fishing out a high performer like Dr Ogbede, as well as finally bringing to an end the long running marginalization of South East region, with the creation of the SEDC.
The youth group stressed that by the singular masterstroke of SEDC creation, the duo have helped to automatically return Ala Igbo to the mainstream of national activities, disclosing that they and the entirety of the people of the region, will remain eternally grateful to the President and DSP Kalu, for the monumental feat!
